Huntingfield Rebel
Attention:
for the 2008 breeding season
Huntingfield
Rebel is at stud with our friends, (and one-time pupil) Olive and Ivor Broderick of Kylemore
Stud, Loughrea who are taking him for the season. He is so adaptable that he settled in straight away
and they are treating him just like we do, time in a paddock, hacking out,
and plenty of attention and company. We have many clients in Galway who will
be delighted to have Rob much nearer even though he will still be AI only. We are sure they will do any excellent job and all future enquiries
should be directed to them at 09097 45599.

If you want to use a Dublin Champion out of a Supreme Champion Mare who also has the ability to jump a really big fence, the movement to win in the Dressage Arena and the kindness and reliability to carry a 14 yr old girl around a Derby track, this is your horse. Versatility is his middle name, and he is a perfect gentleman at all times. Bred by us and repatriated when his father went to Zimbabwe (now in South Africa) he has done everything asked of him and more. He has great front and scope, is an outstanding mover and a complete gentleman in every way. He throws 100% greys.
Performance
HUNTINGFIELD REBEL was broken and brought out by his purchaser as a foal, Deborah Paul and spent some time competing in BSJA with both Lionel Dunning and Louise McLachlan. He qualified for the Foxhunter Regional Finals as a 5 y.o. but was in Ireland during the Finals. He won nearly £500 in 2 abbreviated seasons then in Ireland with Dermott Lennon he went up into Grade C with only a few outings. In the show ring, he was Champion at the RDS in 1999 and a few days later he was Reserve Champion in the I.D. Performance Event. In 2001 he was the Champion Riding Horse at the I.D. National Show with a student. He has done a few Dressage Tests and has won twice, gaining 48 points, again in very few outings.
Progeny
With limited opportunity
until coming to Ireland he sired Huntingfield Hattrick, Champion
in 2002 of Leitrim All Ireland Mare & foal Championship, Won
at 2yrs, Leicester County Show and 2nd ID National Show at 3.
Huntingfield Special. Champion Connaught Foal in 1999, and All
Ireland Champion ID Yearling filly in 2000. His eldest Irish crop
are 6y.o of 2004.He has already sired 3 Connaught Champions, including
Rosses Field Master, and one All Ireland Yearling Champion as
well as having the two top priced fillies in Cavan I.D. National
Sale. At the National Breed show 2001 his stock won many rosettes
incl. 1st and 3rd in Yearling colts and the Supreme Champion is
in foal to him. Also Champion RID yearling in 2003.
Breeding profile
HUNTINGFIELD REBEL carries brilliant outcross
genes, which are also totally free from Clydesdale or other cold
bloodlines. On his sires side through the exported GLENAGYLE
REBEL you have the unique Prince Henry line, also Rusheen
Hero and Merrion, both very underrepresented in Irish Draughts.
His dam, WHIPPY,
who like his Grade A sire was vigorously performance tested carries
the brilliant Blue Peter and Skylark lines. Whippy who won the
Supreme Championship at the ID Nat. Show as a 16 yr old, has produced
a multitude of Show champions and 6 registered jumpers. Her dam
SOFTEE, was the
Masters horse until she was 10, only asked to breed alternate
years. She is the dam of SUMA'S
MURPHYS LAW, an RID stallion of great character and has a
daughter in Australia, Suma's Harkaway and her other grandson
is the top RID Crosstown Dancer.
