VDL ARKANSAS B.s. 1996 by Acobat II (Athlet Z) ex Aziemieka (Keur, Pref, Prest.) by Silvano (Le Mexico) ex d by Hanassi xx ex d by Cobblers Thread xx Approved ISH and AES.

This fantastic athlete came to Ireland as a four year old to do a job and he did it to perfection. With Clem McMahon he sailed through his first season winning in Dublin by a wide margin and continuing this in Cavan. As a 5 yr old he was the N.I. 5 y.o champ. And finished the season winning the prestigious Cavan Classic, the acknowledged championship for the year. He also received full Approval for the ISH. At six and seven years he continued to jump clears and regularly win and place, qualifying for the RDS every time. In August 2003 he returned to Holland as had always been the plan and started with Dutch international Wout Jan van der Schans. They immediately started winning classes, and culminated in the Stallion show in Zwolle winning the first qualifier, 2 nd in the second and finishing 3 rd overall in the Promising stallion category having one fence down all week. In the spring of 2004 at 8 yrs he started on the International circuit and has had excellent results. These include placings at Geesteren, Miese, and Hickstead. He also was a chance ride for the 16 y.o. son of Wout Jan at Wierden who qualified in 3 rd place for the Grand Prix and then won it, gaining selection for the Dutch Young Riders team in Portugal .

Arkansas ’ mother line is recognized as being one of the top families. Aziemieka has produced now 5 international jumpers including the Keur stallion Glennridge, who was shortlisted for the Olympic team for Sidney but died suddenly as an 11 year old. He has sired Glenn, who jumps for Germany and the top placed 5 yr old in the USA in 2002. Also dam of Everest, a leading stallion in Sweden , Jezetro and Lely, both regular winners at G.P level before retiring to stud.

A lovely young horse by the triple World Cup winner of Rodrigo Pessoa who is one of the leading jumpers in the world. His dam is a Ster mare and her dam who jumped at Z level was an own sister to Ahorn. Showing a nice jump under saddle with an excellent canter stride Taloubet has been allowed to develop at his own pace, and an autumn campaign is planned for him. His foals are all lively and athletic with sweet natures.

By the same sire as Cavalier Royale he has just retired from an outstanding showjumping career topped by the European Champs in 2001. He won both qualifiers and was leading entering the final day. His own sister Corlanda is ridden by Willy Melliger to great success. Already his offspring are supremely successful i.e. VDL Pacific, winner in 2004 of several young international classes, and Sir Corland and hehas a jumping index of 173.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SALE

As per TATTERSALLS conditions of sale where they are relevant but with the following exceptions:

Any Lot not stated as belonging to a third party is sold on behalf of Suma Stud. These will be sold without reserve, subject to a minimum bid.

This will be EURO 1000 for foals and yearlings and EURO 2000 for 2 year olds & up.

All animals will have passports or Foal IDs, or they will have been applied for. Some will be studbooks other than the ISH.

Three year olds will have a V.S. Cert issued by Lisadell Equine Hospital, Navan. Drugs testing condition will apply.

Mares that have been covered will have a Pregnancy certificate issued within a week before the sale. There will be NO re-vetting.

Lots purchased to remain at Suma Stud until paid for or released by the Vendor.

Foals sold by Suma Stud may remain with their dams at Suma Stud for one month, at the purchasers risk, if it is too early to be weaned, at no cost of keep, by personal arrangement.
